1. Apply for FAFSA

To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), student will need:

  • Social Security Number

  • Alien Registration Number (if student is not a U.S. citizen)

  • Federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. 

  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)

  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)

  • An FSA ID to sign electronically.

If student is a dependent student (most of the case), then he/she will also need most of the above information for his/her parent(s).

 

2. Common Application- add Georgia State University Clarkston Campus 

 

Student will need:

  • Alien Registration Number (if student is not a U.S. citizen)

  • Social Security Number

  • The names of courses that he/she is taking this year

  • Emergency Contact Information

  • Check whether his/her parents filed taxes last year and claimed him/her on their taxes. 

  • Scanned copy of the front and back of his/her GA ID and Green Card to be uploaded to the application.

 

3. Set SAT/ACT Test or ACCUPLACER Dates

  • SAT: 3/9/2019, 5/4/2019, 6/1/2019

  • ACT: 2/9/2019, 4/13/2019, 6/8/2019

4. Application Fee Waiver

On the college board account after student takes its SAT, he/she gets four fee waivers that he/she can use to apply to colleges. Student can print them out , fill out the fee waiver form and upload it on applications. That way student doesn't have to pay the application fee.
